Misenabyme pen
This project is the result of several years of dedication. It is the convergence of four exceptional artisanal traditions: the expertise of a master penmaker, a jeweller, a wood and horn engraver, and a leather craftsman.
The pen features a classic elegant silhouette, crafted from black buffalo horn. Each piece is individually handmade by our artisan in Florence, making every pen unique. Subtle variations and signs of manual craftsmanship are not imperfections, but rather the distinctive marks of authentic artisanal work—qualities that set these pieces apart.
At the top of the cap, our jeweller has mounted a handcrafted brass clip adorned with either red bloodstone or blue sodalite. Limited-edition pieces are distinguished by the addition of a sapphire.
The leather case is created in the centuries-old Florentine tradition of cuoietto fiorentino. This meticulous technique requires the leather to be shaped and formed around a wooden mould over the course of several weeks, resulting in a case of remarkable character and durability.
The presentation box is crafted from mango wood and embellished with hand-carved horn and bone inlays. Executed with extraordinary skill, the decorative motifs reflect the geometric marble pavements of Florence's most celebrated churches: the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.
The pen is named Misenabyme, a figure of speech in which a scene, image, or story contained within a larger work reveals its deeper meaning and purpose.
We believe that writing serves a similar function in life. Through reflection, memory, and creation, the written word allows us to discover the narratives that give meaning to our experiences. Misenabyme is therefore more than a pen: it is an invitation to seek one's own purpose, to cultivate inspiration, and to practice gratitude.
